Let there be light: and there was light.

A practical cooperation of private
astronomical observatories
Bringing deep sky imaging to a new level
We
are
two
astrophotographers,
jointly
driven
by
our
dedication
to
deep-sky and planetary imaging.
The
focus
of
JUPITER
is
to
present
our
images
and
share
our
experiences in imaging methodology and technology.
Of
course
we
want
our
pictures
to
be
pretty,
but
we
mainly
strive
for
reproducable,
scientifically
plausible
results
(e.g.
natural
color
balance
and
proper
calibration).
Therefore,
we
are
always
working
on
new
ways
for
both
the
image
capturing
process
and
the
image
processing workflow.
You
can
find
our
images
in
the
gallery
section
and
technical
articles
on our methodology in the knowledge base.
Our Observatories
Based
in
beautiful
Upper
Palatia
in
Bavaria,
southern
Germany,
we
run
two
observatories
under
quite
dark,
rural
skies:
Juniper
Hill
Observatory
(JHO)
and
Point
Creek Observatory (PCO).
